No limits. Just little-big-kid dreams. Welcome to the land of colourful bricks. The basic building block for children’s dreams measures 7.8 millimetres by 7.8 millimetres across and is 9.6 millimetres high. It serves as the foundation for about 2,400 different kinds of bricks. Which, in turn, is the stuff entire worlds are made of. The name of this special building material: Lego.
We’ve assembled 1,158 Lego bricks, preferably of the colour rosso corsa. Better known as the racing red of Ferrari. And we ended up with a true Ferrari: the F40. A real supercar. The fastest car of its time. Only problem: horsepower and torque weren’t part of the package.
That you can find, in child-sized portions, at Legoland Günzburg. The Hyundai Legoland Driving School even gives kids a chance to earn their own Lego driving licence (advance booking required). In the meantime, the grown-ups can marvel at the »High Five«, a collection of the world’s tallest skyscrapers assembled especially for the new season from more than 400,000 bricks. Small? No way! Even at a scale of 1:150, the Burj Khalifa is more than 5½ metres (18 feet) tall.
Young and old alike are enthralled by the Lego Ferrari. In part thanks to the many small details, such as the hidden headlamps or rear V8 turbo engine.
